Bill's Occupation: Construction Business Owner / Union Operator / Foreman

Let's Work Together

Early Life and Education

Bill was born in Southern California and raised in Skagit County, WA. From a young age, he developed a fascination with building and construction, often assisting his father with his own business processing firewood. After completing high school, Bill decided to pursue a career in construction operating heavy equipment following his father and grandfather's path. He joined a union apprenticeship program at the age of 18, where he gained hands-on experience and technical training in various aspects of construction work along with all earthworks equipment used in heavy construction.

Career Progression

Bill quickly proved his skill and dedication. Over the years, he worked as a union operator, specializing in operating heavy machinery, and eventually transitioned into lead operator and foreman roles working with different companies. His responsibilities included overseeing job sites, managing teams, and ensuring the successful completion of projects. Through his commitment to safety and quality, Bill earned a reputation as a highly productive and skilled operator in the industry.

Entrepreneurial Journey

In 2021, after gaining significant experience and industry knowledge amassing over 22,000 hours worth, Bill made the bold decision to start his own construction business, Shark Roll Offs — initially focused on dumpster rental services, later changing paths to residential and commercial earthworks projects, hence the added division of Shark Heavy Construction. His company quickly gained traction due to its commitment to excellence, integrity, and client satisfaction. Bill prides himself on helping as many people as possible with fair pricing and the highest quality work, often uncommon in the residential construction sector.

Small by design. Built for big jobs.

SHC runs lean on purpose — when you call, you're talking directly to the person running your job, not a dispatcher or a rotating crew of subs. That means faster answers, one point of accountability from walkthrough to final grade, and pricing without a subcontractor markup. It doesn't mean less capability: 22,000+ hours in heavy civil construction, a 100% accident-free record, owned equipment and dumpsters that move the moment a job starts, and hands-on experience managing job sites and teams as a foreman long before SHC existed. Residential yard or commercial site — same standard, either way.

Achievements and Impact

Under Bill's leadership, Shark Heavy Construction has successfully completed numerous projects, ranging from small demolitions to large-scale clearing and excavations. Bill's ability to manage complex operations while maintaining strong client relationships has been crucial to the company's growth. He is also committed to giving back to the community, often engaging in helping other individuals and small businesses he meets with his vast earthworks knowledge and experience dealing with commercial operations, DOT and CMV requirements that are always difficult to navigate without guidance.

Personal Life

Outside of work, Bill enjoys spending time with his family and participating in various outdoor activities, such as off-road adventures and creating metal art.

Future Aspirations

Bill aims to continue growing his business while expanding his expertise in sustainable construction practices. He hopes to eventually mentor aspiring construction professionals, sharing the knowledge he has gained throughout his career.
